Overview of Domestic Application of the Roll Crusher

The roll crusher was used in industrial production in 1806, which is a relatively old crushing equipment. Since the roller crusher can crush the wet clay, coal and other soft material with its simple structure, easy maintenance and low price, the roll crusher is still widely used in cement companies. The  main working part of the roll crusher is the cylindrical roller. Some roller surface is smooth glossy and some is the ribbed or toothed uneven surface. In addition, different roller sleeves with different shapes can be installed according to different applications.  According to the number of roller, the equipment can be divided into single-roll crusher (PG), double roll crusher (2PG) and multi-roll crusher (4PG, 6PG). According to the shape of the surface of the roller, it can be divided into glossy roller crusher (PG) and tooth surface roll crusher (PGC).The roll crusher is mainly used for the crushing of medium or lower-hardness mines and rocks with medium or lower rigidity in mine selection, chemicals, cement and building materials industrial production. Compared with the jaw breaker and mobile crusher, the roll crusher has longer history. The specification of the roll crusher is indicated by diameter x length (mm) of the crusher roller. For example 2PGC900 × 1200 means that roller diameter of the tooth surface double roll crusher is 900mm, and the length of the roller is 1200mm. For a single-roll crusher, it has a toothed surface of the roller sleeve of the roller which forms a crushing chamber with the jaw plate. When the material enters the crushing chamber, with the downward rotation of the tooth surfaces roll in the role of friction, the material drawn into a gap between the roller and the jaws, the extruded material will be pulverized. Meanwhile, the pulverized material is immediately transferred roller. For double roll crusher, the main structure is characterized by the two rollers to retain a certain distance.  The roll crusher uses compression, with two rolls rotating around a shaft, towards the gap between the rolls. The gap between the rolls is set to the size of product required, with the realization that the largest feeding particle can only be 4 times the gap dimension. The particles are drawn into the gap between the rolls by their rotating motion and a friction angle formed between the rolls and the particle, called the nip angle. The two rolls force the particle between their rotating surface into the ever smaller gap area, and it fractures from the compressive forces presented by the rotating rolls.
